New Orleans Mayor-Elect Picks Ex-Detroit CFO

The pick by New Orleans Mayor-elect LaToya Cantrell of Norman White to be the city's chief financial officer in her administration is raising an eyebrow or two.

White held the same post in Detroit when Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was found guilty on federal corruption charges and sentenced to 28 years in prison.

However, he was never implicated in the wrongdoing, Cantrell saying he helped "right the ship" at a challenging time for city government in the Motor City.
