New Orleans Mayor-elect LaToya Cantrell, a Democrat, will be sworn into office on Monday, but a legal cloud hanging over her is expanding to include other areas of city government.
In an effort to quash rumors to the contrary, Republican Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry says the probe into Cantrell's possible misuse of city-issued credit cards is ongoing.
His statement Thursday confirmed the probe is more widespread than "just the mayor-elect," a Cantrell spokesman calling it a stunt and a "grave disappointment."
