A man convicted earlier of killing a New Orleans police officer will be spending the rest of his life in prison.
The mandatory punishment was handed to Travis Boys Thursday at the conclusion of a sentencing hearing. He will not be eligible for parole.
The 36-year-old was found guilty of first-degree murder in the June 2015 shooting of Officer Daryle Holloway who was transporting Boys to jail after a domestic violence incident.
