A dead horse that had been rotting on the sidewalk in a 7th Ward neighborhood is finally gone.
The owner of the horse reached out to city departments all weekend asking for help to dispose of the body after he found the animal had died. Eventually, city firefighters and others brought in a forklift to remove the carcass and wore special suits to keep them protected from any potential health hazards.
Residents are thankful the animal has been removed so they won't have to smell the horrible stench.
