Louisiana's Department of Health will be sending out eviction notices to more than 30,000 nursing home residents.
The move is due to the impacts of the new state budget.
Governor Jon Bel Edwards is set to have a press conference Wednesday with more details before notices are sent out on Thursday.
Under the budget, nearly all nursing homes would close and over 25,000 workers would lose their jobs. Governor Edwards wants to fix the budget, but says they will need a special session to do so.
