This is the tug “Steve Richoux” which ran into the wharf last night. Debris still sits on the front of the barges. Authorities are investigating an incident that left heavy damage to a wharf and a building at Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World.
The crash happened early Monday last night not far from where the inaugural ball was being held for the city's new mayor. The fire department says a tugboat lost steering with four barges, slamming into the structures.
No injuries were reported.
