The head of the Louisiana Department of Health will meet with reporters early this afternoon to detail when more than 40,000 Medicaid recipients in the state will lose their benefits.
Notices hit the mail tomorrow.
The move comes after the slashing of the state budget by the House ahead of a projected revenue shortfall in the upcoming fiscal year totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Governor Edwards terms it "sad" that state lawmakers didn't fix the problem in February.
