The future of the state's only land-based casino seems to be on shaky ground.
As of last night, the legislature had not approved House Bill 553 giving Harrah's New Orleans Casino a no-bid, 30-year contract extension.
Governor John Bel Edwards, city council members and Mayor LaToya Cantrell are expressing "serious reservations" about the proposal.
The legislation hit a huge bump in the road after reports surfaced that there's an option available to La Vegas-based Vici Properties to purchase Harrah's parent company, Caesars Entertainment.
