Local NAACP Wants JPSO Detectives Charged With Murder

The local chapter of the NAACP is calling for four Jefferson Parish sheriff's detectives to be charged with murder and that state police and the Justice Department conduct an independent investigation.

The group's demands came Tuesday after the coroner ruled 22-year-old Keevan Robinson's death a homicide by asphyxiation. He died in custody last Thursday after leading officers on a car and foot chase during a narcotics investigation.

Since the JPSO isn't equipped with any video devices, there is no dashcam or bodycam footage of the incident.
