Busy City Council Agenda

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Sexual harassment is one of several topics expected at a busy city council meeting Thursday.

Councilmember Helena Moreno will introduce a proposal to make anti-sexual harassment training mandatory for elected city officials.

The council could also open an investigation into Entergy, after finding out the company had paid actors at two meetings. Entergy claims it had no idea the actors were hired to support a new power plant in New Orleans East.

Councilmembers will also look at a resolution to underscore a letter it had sent blasting the sewerage and water board for not keeping them informed about ongoing issues.

The board has said it will study the letter.

The city council will also honor the New Orleans Police Officer who saved a woman who was stranded in her car at the flooded Carrollton underpass last Friday.

Officer Brian Franks said he would do it again, even though he can't swim.

The meeting begins at 10 a.m.
