University Medical Center is launching a campaign to protect funding amidst potential damaging budget cuts.
The campaign is called UMC is Vital and is an effort to get through to lawmakers in Baton Rouge about the potential impact of reduced state funding of the facility.
Lawmakers have only until June 4th to come up with a budget fix, and Governor Edwards feels confident they will.
