The wife of former U.S. Senator David Vitter has cleared another hurdle in President Trump's bid to have her confirmed as a federal court judge in New Orleans.
Wendy Vitter's nomination was approved on Capitol Hill Thursday by the Senate Judiciary Committee despite her earlier refusal to endorse the Supreme Court's decision in Brown v. Board of Education that declared public school segregation unconstitutional.
Vitter is now awaiting a confirmation hearing by the full Senate.
