Famous New Orleans restaurant owner Ella Brennan died this morning at the age of 92.
The matriarch of the Brennan restaurant family, she elevated the local food scene and took the idea of fine dining in the South to another playing field.
She had recently turned over day-to-day operations of her restaurant Commander's Palace to her daughter and niece, but still would be present as she lived just next door to the restaurant.
Brennan was given numerous food awards throughout her lifetime for her amazing work in the kitchen.
