Louisiana Public Schools will be required to display "In God We Trust" as Governor John Bel Edwards has signed the bill into law.
Schools will have until the start of the school year in fall 2019 to fulfill the requirements.
The bill, presented by Senator Regina Barrow, also requires schools to educate students about the motto. Barrow said she sponsored this idea because she thinks its important for the younger generation to know the history of the country.
