Former City Council president Oliver Thomas has been released from police custody after being arrested last night.
Police arrested Thomas last night after he was in an accident on Read Boulevard and Dwyer Road. He was taken to the hospital and arrested shortly after on a warrant from St. Charles Parish.
A warrant was issued three years ago when Thomas failed to show up to court for a traffic ticket. He also was caught driving with a suspended license.
