Massive 3-Alarm Fire Destroys Irish Bayou Truck Stop

No word yet on the cause of a three-alarm fire that ripped through and engulfed a truck stop-casino on LA-11 in New Orleans.

The blaze erupted late Thursday afternoon in the two-story Bayou Truck Stop and Casino. Thick smoke forced the temporary closing of the highway and I-10 East.

Authorities says six people inside the building managed to flee to safety unharmed.

Our news partner FOX 8 reported Friday that part of Highway 11 was still closed Friday morning as crews continued to work the scene.
