High School Classes Offered In New Orleans Jail

Young men in a New Orleans jail are now enrolled in high school.

Public radio's This American Life reports that those taking part in the schooling can earn diplomas or academic credit while behind bars.

The education is focused on those who are juveniles up to those who are age 21.

The project is funded by the city of New Orleans, making the school in the jail part of the New Orleans Parish School District.
