Report: Entergy Aware Of Paid Public Support Of Plant

A black eye is growing darker for the power company serving New Orleans.

Documents released by City Hall Wednesday confirm that at least one Entergy manager was aware that a number of people, some of them professional actors, would be paid to attend council meetings to support a new power plant for the utility. Entergy earlier denied any of its employees knew of the plan.

The more the $200 million project won 6-1 city council approval in March.
