St. Tammany Parish authorities are working to learn just whose finger was found inside an alligator snapping turtle.
A Bush-area man discovered the severed digit inside the turtle as he was processing it. Efforts to obtain a finger print failed.
Authorities have checked with hospitals and searched an area of the Tchefuncte River where the turtle was captured for clues as to the identity of the person who lost the finger but thus far have come up empty handed.
