Royalty will be in New Orleans today as the city continues to mark its 300th anniversary.
A welcoming ceremony and luncheon will be held at Gallier Hall for King Felipe the Sixth and Queen Letizia of Spain. Mayor LaToya Cantrell and other local officials will take part in the event that precedes several other stops in the city that was under Spanish rule for four decades.
The city is hoping to strengthen Louisiana's economic ties to Spain.
