Nine Days Left In Latest Special Session On Budget

Louisiana State Capitol

The time will be quickly dwindling on the latest special legislative session to address Louisiana's budget crisis.

State lawmakers went back to work yesterday for a ten-day meeting with the goal of addressing a $650 million shortfall in revenue effective July 1st.

If the red ink isn't erased by then, the earlier approved $29 billion state budget will remain with program cuts impacting everything from TOPS to healthcare.
