There's no word yet on what sparked a fire on a barge hauling a load of scrapped vehicles on the Mississippi River upstream from New Orleans.
For hours, smoke billowed from the vessel in Jefferson Parish not far from the Huey P. Long Bridge. The Coast Guard said the barge began sinking at one point from the water being poured on the fire to put it out.
No injuries were reported.
