A woman blamed for causing a deadly crash on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway last year is waiving a jury trial so a judge can decide her case.
Olivia Matte is charged with vehicular homicide in a crash that killed 37-year-old James Blackmond. Officers determined Matte was drunk at the time of the crash, her third instance of driving under the influence in less than a year.
FOX 8 reports Matte is due back in a Jefferson Parish courtroom on July 24th for a motion's ruling.
