Shooting Leaves Man Dead In Jefferson Parish

Jefferson Parish detectives are investigating deadly gunfire last night in Avondale.

Deputies responding to a shots-fired call found a 47-year-old man dead around 9:30 near a baseball field in the Kennedy Heights neighborhood.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports relatives and dozens of other people gathered at the location as authorities worked the scene.

No motive or suspect information was immediately available.
