Louisiana AG Critical Of Governor In Execution Delays

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry has fired off a no-holds barred letter to Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards over the continued delay of executions in the state.

Landry says the governor's administration has ceded control to a federal court.

The Republican AG appears to be outraged over a successful year-long extension sought by Edwards of a court order barring the state from carrying out executions because it can't comply with lethal injection protocols due to a national shortage of the necessary drugs.

But, Landry claims the biggest obstacle to resuming executions in the state is Edwards himself.
