State corrections officials say drug overdoses are suspected in the Wednesday night deaths of two inmates at the state prison in Angola.

The bodies of the men were found hours apart in the lockup's maximum security Transitional Unit.

Autopsies were ordered for convicted killer John Hatfield and Kenneth LaCoste, who was serving a ten-year sentence for attempted cocaine distribution.

A shakedown of the facility afterward led to the seizure of ice picks, some drugs, cell phones and cell phone chargers.
