(WVUE/FOX 8) Jefferson parish officials said they are taking swift action to address a foul odor affecting River Ridge and Harahan residents.
Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni said that IESI, the company with the contract to oversee the landfill for the parish, has not been properly handling liquid garbage.
Yenni said the company was in breach of their contract related to the odors.
According to Yenni, an employee overseeing the landfill has resigned.
