State police say an elderly woman is facing charges in last Wednesday's hit-and-run of Gordon Poydras of New Orleans, who died two days after being struck as he walked near I-10 in Metairie.
Troopers arrested 72-year-old Elva Lafaye of New Orleans after she surrendered at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.
Lafaye was booked on a felony hit-and-run charge, though the crash remains under investigation.
