Regulatory Process Delays Medical Marijuana Distribution In Louisiana

It appears it will be November at the earliest before the first batch of medical marijuana is harvested for Louisiana's nine pharmacies licensed to sell the drug.

The product had expected to be on store shelves by next month, but a report in the Town Talk says the regulatory process is getting the blame for at least a two-month delay in the initial distribution.

GB Sciences is the grower, along with the LSU AgCenter in Baton Rouge.

Medical marijuana has been approved as a treatment for a variety of health issues in the state.
