Slidell Residents Upset After High Grass Removal

High grass removal on a stretch of Highway 11 in Slidell has left multiple residents disappointed.

CLECO admitted they cut the foliage just north of Lake Pontchartrain in an effort to get better access to power lines, but what was found under it was an eerie reminder.

Beneath the high grass and weeds was debris, some being over a decade old left over after Hurricane Katrina.

While the residents say they understand the power company's goal, they are upset with how the area was left, since they didn't pick up any of the trash.

DOTD says they are not responsible for picking up the trash either, because they did not cut the grass in the area.
