The St. Tammany Parish public school district is proposing a new $416 million budget that includes salary increases for the 2018-2019 school year by $2.8 million.
A scheduled public hearing for the proposed budget it set for Thursday at 6:00 at the board's offices in Covington.
There are 55 schools in the St. Tammany Parish with an enrollment of around 39,000 students and 5,600 employees. The district's budget is the largest of any public body in the Parish.
