A Jefferson Parish man is facing a terrorism charge after calling in a fake hostage situation.
Gretna police were dispatched to dd's Discounts Wednesday afternoon after someone called 911 reporting that a man had entered the store and taken a woman hostage.
Officers soon discovered the report was a hoax and arrested 44-year-old Doane Patterson of Marrero who had failed to hang up after calling 911 on a cellphone found in his pocket.
