Hair-Extensions Ban Ends At Christ The King

The superintendent of schools for the Archdiocese of New Orleans says a hair-extensions ban at Christ the King Elementary in Terrytown is being rescinded.

The statement came Monday from RaeNell Houston, who says she plans to work with school officials toward the creation of a uniform policy sensitive to all students.

Two black children were earlier booted from school for violating Christ the King's recently adopted policy requiring students to have only natural hair, meaning no extensions.
