The mother of a young man from New Orleans says her son is traumatized and still trying to process the mass shooting that occurred Sunday while he was attending a Madden video gaming tournament in Jacksonville.

The event left three people dead, including the shooter, 24-year-old David Katz of Baltimore, Maryland, who took his own life. Eleven others were injured.

iHeartRadio New Orleans news partner FOX 8 reports 21-year-old Trae Horne of New Orleans, a highly-ranked Madden player, escaped injury but that a close friend of his was among those killed.
