More Post-Katrina Work Approved In Slidell

Almost 13 years to the day after Hurricane Katrina put Slidell under water, millions of dollars in additional construction has been approved to make repairs in the Bayou Bonfouca Basin.

The Slidell City Council has agreed to a $9.25 million contract with Hard Rock Construction to fix drainage, sewerage and roadway systems. The project joins several other infrastructure repairs as part of a hurricane-recovery effort.

The work is expected to continue through 2020.
