Security at Tiger Stadium is being ratcheted up for this year's football season.
LSUsports.net reports that 15 metal detectors will be in use this season at gates 23 through 28 as part of a pilot program. Any items deemed to be a weapon will be confiscated and not returned.
Metal detectors are expected to cover all entrances of the stadium next season, a year earlier than mandated by the Southeastern Conference.
