The U.S. News and World Reports is releasing the 2019 list of the best colleges.
Tulane, a private university, comes in as the highest ranked Louisiana School on the list at number 44. LSU, the state's only public school to make the list, came in at 140th overall.
Among historically black universities included in the study, Xavier University in New Orleans was ranked number five, and Southern University was tied for the 31st spot.
Over 300 universities are rated on several factors like student outcomes such as graduation rates, and less placed on ACT and SAT scores.
