A former St. Bernard Parish correctional officer is facing up to life in prison following his plea Tuesday in a case tied to the death of an inmate four years ago.
Timothy Williams entered a guilty plea to a federal civil rights charge.
He is one of four officers charged in the 2014 death of 19-year-old Nimali Henry who died while unresponsive and naked on a jail cell floor after being repeatedly denied care for ongoing life-threatening medical conditions.
Williams is expected to cooperate in the trial of three other officers charged in the case when they go to trial this November.
