Among the 50 states, Louisiana is ranked second in the nation when it comes to the number of female murder victims being killed by men in single victim/single offender incidents.

The information is contained in a just released report from the Washington, DC-based Violence Policy Center and cites data from 2016.

The rate of men killing women is put at 2.42 homicides per 100,000 females, or twice the national average.

The domestic homicide rate has been steadily increasing for five years now.
