Bond is set at $1 million for a woman accused of second-degree murder in Lafourche Parish.
The sheriff's department arrested 28-year-old Shanell Thompson of Bayou Blue early Sunday morning. She's accused in the stabbing death of 28-year-old Justin Nixon who died after being transferred to University Medical Center in New Orleans.
Thompson allegedly told detectives she stabbed Nixon during an argument that turned physical.
