Police have a woman in custody after she allegedly defrauded the state and federal government out of about $70,000.
Louisiana State Police and the Department of Child and Family services began an investigation into 33-year-old Crystal Harmon after being tipped off about her alleged scams. The investigation revealed she had defrauded the SNAP food stamp program, as well as committing fray against the government by claiming assistance for her child through the social security office.
Harmon's being charged on felony theft, illegal transmission of momentary funds, computer fraud and maintaining false public records.
