If you receive a call from someone offering to register you by phone to vote in the upcoming November election just hang up.
Scammers are said to be making such calls in numerous states.
Louisiana Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin says residents aren't allowed to register to vote or request an absentee ballot by phone.
He says both needs can only be done online by the October 16th deadline and in person or by mail by October 9th.
