Louisiana is ranked among the lowest in the nation for median household incomes.
A ranking done by 24/7 Wall Street found the Pelican State ranked 47th out of 50 on the list.
Rankings were calculated based off the newly-released median household income figures from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2017 survey.
Louisiana is tied with New Mexico for the second-highest poverty rate in America, and also comes in second place for the highest number of households living in extreme poverty.
