Gas prices across Louisiana are only a hair cheaper today.

AAA reports the statewide average price of regular is down a penny today compared to last Monday. But, at $2.65 a gallon, the fuel is about seven cents higher than a month ago, and costing drivers about 40 cents more per gallon than on this same date last year.

In the New Orleans area, you'll need to be a warehouse club member to get the cheapest price, with a gallon of regular going for around $2.29 at the Sam's Club in Metairie and the Costco off the Interstate, according to neworleansgasprices.com powered by GasBuddy. Most gas stations are around $2.40 a gallon.

In the Baton Rouge area, drivers will find the cheapest gallon of regular in Denham Springs at $2.39 at two locations. GasBuddy has most locations around $2.50.
