Louisiana drivers, on average, are paying a nickel less today for a gallon of regular compared to last Monday.
The travel organization AAA says the fuel is now averaging $2.60 a gallon compared to $2.65 a week ago.
However, the price is still significantly higher than this time last year when the average price of regular in the Pelican State was $2.23 a gallon.
According to gas price websites powered by GasBuddy, the best price for a gallon of regular is around $2.40 in the Capitol Region and $2.37 in the New Orleans metro area.
