St. Tammany Parish School Board officials are reporting they've received a $500,000 grant for anti-violence training.

The funds will be used for programs to educate students, teachers and administrators about how to identify and assist students showing signs they may be dangerous to others or themselves.

The grant, awarded through the STOP School Violence Act, comes at a time when school security is among the top concerns of many across the nation.
