Construction Work Beginning On U.S. 11 Bridge

Construction work is beginning on the U.S. 11 bridge over Lake Pontchartrain between Slidell and New Orleans.

The Department of Transportation and Development says periodic closures can be expected through December 21st.

The bridge is undergoing a $28 million improvement project that will include grid deck replacement, a new fender system, and "electrical and mechanical rehabilitation."
