They say "never smile at a crocodile," but what about at an alligator?
Travelers are being greeted by an unexpected guest this week at Louis Armstrong International Airport.
The Audubon Nature Institute brought in a baby alligator Monday and is coming back Friday to give travelers the chance to take what they're calling a "Gator Selfie."
The photo op was set up in baggage claim.
The program is part of a partnership between the Institute and the airport to raise awareness about conserving the alligators' habitat.
No word on whether the reptiles have to go through Airport Security.
