The New Orleans Office of Inspector General is out with a report that focuses on what apparently has been an ongoing practice of free Jazz Fest tickets being distributed to numerous departments in City Hall.
The practice, involving hundreds of tickets valued at up to $33,000, could violate Louisiana laws barring workers from receiving gifts.
The investigation was prompted by an anonymous complaint filed last year, and both Jazz Fest organizers and the mayor's office are reviewing the matter to ensure appropriate policies are followed.
