Two campus cops are out of a job and the public safety director has resigned following the pepper-spraying of students at Xavier University in New Orleans.
That word yesterday from school officials, two days after the incident occurred at a midnight breakfast held prior to the start of final exams.
Students say they were locked in the cafeteria after some of them apparently failed to clean up after the event and that's when panic set in.
Xavier President Reynold Verret issued a statement saying he was "deeply disturbed" by what happened, noting the safety of students is of "paramount importance."
